Description

I was recently looking at the news release and the official published images of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field:

https://hubblesite.org/contents/news-releases/2004/news-2004-07.html#section-id-2

To me the official image had blown out galaxy cores which compromised detail and the colors were too saturated. I thought that I would give processing the data a try. I found the original Ultra Deep Field data at this URL:

https://archive.stsci.edu/prepds/xdf/

I assembled an RGB image from the F775W, the F606W and the F435W data from the ACS/WFC data set and processed it to try and preserve as much of the dim detail as possible. Most everything in the frame is highly red shifted. Getting any blue detail was almost impossible.

I hope you like the amount of detail in this image. I posted the full resolution processed image.
